Councillors Cup 2011

On Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd May, Lionmede hosted the annual friendly match for the Councillors Cup against Chelmsford Bowling Club. This match takes place each year at the beginning of the season between the two clubs who have council maintained greens. Lionmede had not won the Cup since 2007 so were keen to re-address the balance. At tea Lionmede had nudged into the lead on 3 rinks. The final result following a friendly and fun game was won by Lionmede 77 to 48, 3 to 1 rinks.
